indonesia
bali and beyond
Indonesia is different from the rest of Southeast Asia because of its sheer variety.
One trip can take you from Bali's backpacker and surf scene to rice terraces, volcanic mountains, remote islands and some of the world's best marine life. It is particularly good for travellers who want a mix of island life, adventure, nature and social backpacking, rather than mainly cities and overland travel.

The full route goes beyond Bali into Java, adding Javanese culture and some of Indonesia's most impressive volcanic landscapes, including access to Bromo and Ijen.
